Whether this is your first time thinking about yoga, or you have a strong existing practice, or somewhere in between, welcome to Yoga with Tori. Whatever your level of experience or physical ability, I hope you find a good fit with one of my classes. I aim to provide a range of yoga classes with something for everyone.
I'm a 500hr BWY Yoga Teacher and Foundation Course tutor with over 15 years teaching experience. I teach a broad based Hatha yoga practice, with strong Iyengar and dynamic flow elements, but also Yin and restorative practice too. Classes also include pranayama (breath focused practices) relaxation and meditation. Some of my classes are designed especially for beginners, and others are for more experienced students who want to go further. Some are more energetic, others more restful. Wherever possible I offer alternatives and variations to suit different people and needs so I hope you will find something that is a good fit for you.
I teach yoga in Cardiff, in a variety of locations including fully kitted, purpose built studios - please check the CLASSES tab for times and the VENUES tab for more information. Classes include yoga for beginners, yoga for improvers - experienced students, general level drop-in classes, therapeutic yoga, yoga for climbers, motorcyclists, yoga and stress relief and many other applications. I also work privately, 1-1 and in small groups.
I'm sometimes asked what style I teach. I'm quite magpie in my approach, drawing from Iyengar, Yin, Vini, Dynamic vinyasa flow, parayoga, yoga therapy, ayurveda and classical 'hatha' so there isn't a simple answer. My approach is that if I think it is useful and appropriate, then I'll teach it!.
My students range in age from 12 to nearly 100, and have included: secure mental health unit patients, hospice patients, professional athletes, dancers, climbers, people with specific challenges such as cystic fybrosis, MS, ME, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, blind, deaf, amputees, depression, panic attacks. Students represent a wide selection of community from hairdressers to lawyers, tattoo artists to engineers, social workers, nurses, teachers, council workers, carpenters and directors.
I've shared yoga with many people living in different bodies, with different backgrounds, cultures, languages, variety of abilities and lifestyles.
Yoga is for everyone. I aim to make my classes positive and inclusive learning environments, for everyone.
